After purchasing hosting for your domain name, you may find that it no longer suits you or your business and would like to change it.

Rather than cancelling the hosting and signing up for a brand new cPanel account with the new domain name, we can assisting you in simply changing the domain name for your cPanel account. This will avoid having to rebuild your site or having to recreate your email accounts.

If you would like to change the primary domain name for your cPanel account, please contact support. We can usually perform the change quickly and with no side effects.

Before requesting this change, please keep the following points in mind:

  • Some websites may not respond well to the primary cPanel domain being changed. If there are likely to be problems,  our staff will advise you of potential issues before making the change.

  • Any email addresses that already exist under the original cPanel domain will be changed to the new domain eg. If your primary domain is hostgeekguide.com.au and you would like to change the domain to hostgeekguide.com, then any email address ending in @hostgeekguide.com.au will also be changed to hostgeekguide.com. In these cases, it is advisable to add forwarders for the original email addresses after the change is made to ensure that no email is lost.
