Change of Registrant for .au Domains

  • 2

If you wish to change the registrant of a .au domain, please read these details and instructions.

To find the current registrant of a .au domain you can search the public WHOIS information: http://ausregistry.com.au/whois

The registrant is the legal entity that the domain is registered to, not the registrant contact. In most cases, an .au domain is registered to a company, therefore the company listed is the registrant.

If the registrant of the domain needs to be updated, the following process needs to be completed: http://clients.hostgeek.com.au/dl.php?type=d&id=11

  1. Complete the Change of Registrant form available here: https://www.clients.hostgeek.com.au/downloads/RegistrantDetailsChangeV1.pdf
  2. Submit the completed form to HostGeek at support@hostgeek.com.au
  3. An invoice for the COR fee will be raised. This fee is $195.00 ex GST per domain
  4. Once the invoice is paid, the request will be submitted. Please allow 3-5 business days for this to be completed.
  5. The domain name(s) will be de-registered, and re-registered to the new registrant, with a new 2 year validity period.
